Final Weekly Instagram Challenge

As mentioned in our previous standings update, we have revived our Weekly Instagram Challenge in an effort to facilitate more AtmoCup point scoring as we approach the finish line during the decline of storm season. With our inaugural competition concluding at 0z Saturday, this week’s challenge will be our final (and thank goodness, because our Instagram game is complete garbage).

Tag AtmoLife in a photo/video of how you plan to conquer the death ridge this summer. Below is our example.

Be sure to submit your entries by 12z Friday (6/30). In our final standings update next week, we will announce the winner and award them with a free AtmoLife koozie along with 3 AtmoCup points for their school.

Rundown of New Points

6/24 – NC State/Colorado College, 3 Points each – Weekly Instagram Challenge, “Tag AtmoLife in a photo/video of the coolest weather you’ve captured from an airplane. Below is our example.”

Here was the winning responses from our co-winners hurricanedog24 of NC State and thebigdrod of Colorado College:

This is why you take the red eye #upbeforethesun

In addition to 3 AtmoCup points, hurricanedog24 and thebigdrod have also won free AtmoLife koozies. We received a plethora of really great photos last week, so a big thanks is in order to everyone who participated!

With roughly 100 hours remaining in the 2017 AtmoCup, NC State has reclaimed a 1-point lead, It is almost certain that either they or Colorado State will take home our trophy, but if you’re from another Atmo program, don’t let that stop you from trying!

Ways you can earn AtmoCup points for your school RIGHT NOW

Here are the complete rules and details of our 2017 AtmoCup competition listing the many ways in which you can earn points. We’ll be sure to post this link in each weekly update for your convenience. Here’s a brief overview of this week’s opportunities:

  • Storm spotting (As described in the rules)
  • Random bonus points (If you’re gonna pander, be creative!)
  • Claim the unclaimed bracket from our NCAA Tournament challenge. (You gotta prove it was your bracket, but it’s 5 points just sitting there. UPDATE: I think some rando joined the group and made this bracket because nobody is claiming this.)
  • Our Weekly Instagram Challenge!

Storm spotting is still your best bet for earning AtmoCup points by the bunches as our competition concludes. For your convenience, here’s the list detailing how many points each storm item you claim is worth.

As we are writing this, the death ridge appears that it will restrain itself over the course of the week, giving you that final opportunity to head out to the Northern/Central Plains and throw up a Hail Mary.

Now get out there and earn some dang points.
